TTC after 35

What are the chances?

What are the chances that the Lab will be closed for "yearly maintenance" in mid July when I would be having my second IVF? ?ARG!

I went in on Monday CD3 and had the bloodwork and ultrasound done. They gave me a prescription for BCP. (which I did not do last time) ?They told me my IVF nurse would be calling me. She calls later that day and tells me how the lab will be closed and that instead of one month of BCP I may do two (or one month and then a few weeks)! ?So now my actual IVF procedures (ER and ET) will be in late July or early August! ?She is supposed to get some kind of a schedule out to me.?

Aggravating, yet nothing I can do about it. ?On the flip side, I see it as more time to play in the garden, get house projects done and more time for summer fun!

Thanks for listening to me vent!?

Re: What are the chances?

  • TTC is certainly an exercise of patience!!  Two steps forward, one step back.  Sooooo frustrating!  I'm sorry!
  • That sucks, you seem to have a great attitude. Good luck.

I agree...great attitude.  But I'd be frustrated too!

TTC #1, Cycle 22 - Jan 2009 IUI , Femara & Follistim: 7/21/09: BFN Multiple rounds of Clomid June 2012: Decided to move on to IVF after 3 more rounds of Clomid Sept 2012: Got a call from a friend asking us to adopt her baby
  • Oh, I am so sorry! ?I guess it is kind of exciting to have the summer free, but I can imagine your frustration. ?My RE is moving his office this summer, and when we met to discuss IVF in March he said, "it's either now or August". ?I was glad for the warning 'cause being put off would have sent me through the roof!

  • That would drive me crazy.  You are so good about it!
  • About the same as when I went to get some bloodwork done and they were closed because of a pipe breaking.

    Geez...sorry to hear that.

  • Wow, I'd be super frustrated too. They don't have another lab for back up though?? hmmm.  Well I hope you enjoy your summer, you have a great attitude about things.
