Flat Temps - chart stalkers help!

I've been stuck at 97.2 for 5 our of the last 6 days, with one wonky drop in the middle. My BBT is working fine, I've taken my temp a few times during the day the last few days just to be sure, and it's different every time. I'm taking my temp at the same time every day, in the same manner, I haven't been having any wakings or anything that I can think of to make my temps do this. Is this a normal pattern, has anyone experienced it or does anyone have any insight? TIA!

  • Is your temp changing at other times during the day? If not, check the battery in your thermometer. THis happened to me, and it was due to the battery being shot.

    This, good luck!

  • I've checked it a few times during the day the last few days, and I get different readings every time. Plus, it's a brand new BBT. So, I believe the battery is fine.

  • Another thought...are you using a BBT that records to the tenth or hundredth of a degree? I noticed that your temps all fall on single decimal points. Maybe your shift has been very subtle and you can't see it because the thermometer is rounding to the nearest tenth?

  • Autumn, I didn't think of that! It only records the 10th degree - so much for being a 'special' BBT but at free, the price was right. Do you think I should find one that records to the 100th? Where would one find such a thermometer? Thanks!

  • I really liked the one that recorded to the hundreds, I felt that it gave me more precise temps, and sometimes the shift would be less than 1/2 a degree. Target makes a good one. I've heard that Rite Aid and Walgreens make good ones too. You should be able to find them with the regular thermometers, but sometimes they are with the family planning/HPT stuff.
