Our pedi recommended Mylicon drops for LO's gas pain. We bought a bottle of the brand name and it seemed to take the edge off the pain - he wasn't shrieking anymore. When we ran out, we purchased the Walmart Equate brand of the drops because it was less expensive and contains the same active ingredient.
We've been using the Equate brand for two weeks, and LO still has alot of trouble with gas. He started screaming tonight while he was laying on DH's chest, and it was a definite "hurt cry".
I'm starting to think that these drops aren't nearly as effective as the Mylicon brand. I feel so bad for the little guy...I just want him to feel better
Re: Are the generic Mylicon drops just as effective as the brand name?

We've used the Little Remedies brand of gas drops and they seemed to do the trick.
We've used Target brand, Infant Gas X, CVS brand, and Little Tummies. They all seem to work the same for DS. But, avoid the CVS brand ones, if you can, since they have red dye in them.
You could also try using Gripe Water...
