Leaving things at family members houses

ILs live about 4.5 hours away and my parents are 3.  I'm debating between buying stuff to leave at their houses (detergent, diswasher baskets for bottles and pacifiers - stuff like that) or just bringing it all with me.  I'm guessing we'll go every couple of months to visit.  Is it worth it to shell out the extra money?  We haven't traveled at all with DD yet, so I don't know how difficult it will be to bring everything with us.

Do you bring stuff with you or just leave it there?

  • I have a stash of stuff at my parents' house (blankets, diapers, wipes, extra clothes, pacifiers, toys... etc.) and they only live 10 minutes away. It's great knowing you don't have to pack up everything when you leave home.

I have stuff at my ILs and my parents, but we are there every week or two.  I would definitely just pack it all up if you only go every couple of months.
  • I have a stash of emergency stuff at my parents - 1/2 dozen diapers, small can of formula, 2 bottles, extra nips and liners, 2 blankets and a few onesies, but any major things I just bring and/or take care of it at home.

This!  Yes  My parents have taken it upon themselves to buy DD a playmat, bumbo and swing.  They want her to "feel as much at home as possible."
