What a day/night! DH and I had a pretty big fight over something stupid - what temperature to keep the house. We were both pretty worked up, and I had to go to work and just basically walked out. Well, my car wouldn't start! I had to come back in the house and tell him so he could help me. Luckily, I was planning on carpooling and my carpool was able to pick me up. DH thinks it is my battery, which is under warranty because I just got one at the end of 2007. Anyway, I get to work and have a pretty crazy assignment that keeps me busy for the majority of the night. I am so glad to be home now!
Re: Morning
We've always disagreed, but agreed to disagree. This year he is trying to save money and doesn't think I should be allowed to turn it down below 78. He thinks 78 will keep our electric bill under $100. I think he is crazy if he thinks our electric bill (which was over $100 last month) will be cheaper in the middle of the hot summer in Texas!
He is supposed to get me a new battery when he gets off work, before I get up to go back to work tonight. Yay!
I'm sorry your night was stressful, but now your home and you can relax and get some rest.
78 wasn't too bad last year. Our house is really energy efficient and it was comfortable. I would prefer it on 75-76, especially this year since I am hotter than normal!
We keep the ceiling fans going, too. I don't know what I would do without it! I came home this morning and found he's also set up an oscillating fan in the bedroom. He must have gotten hot last night...silly boy, with his 78 degrees!
You should win this arguement hands down! Come on DH, heat = swelling!
DH and I have thought about getting one of those programmable thermastats. I hear they aren't really that expensive and it makes sense cause then you can program it to be one temp during the day and then another at night. DH gets hot at night, so he has a stand fan that blows directly on him all night long so he doesn't overheat. It took a while to get used to that, my friend, let me tell you!
We got one for $50 and LOVE it! When we were both working we would set the a/c to turn off around 8am and kick back on at 4:30pm. It was nice and cool by the time we got home.
