But I would probably hyphenate it:  Ava-Leigh or Ava-Lee.  Otherwise it might be mispronounced.... unless you wanted it to be AH-valeigh.

Thanks. I am not even pregnant yet, but it was a name that was brought up that DH actually liked, but I don't know if I am sold on it. I think Ava-Leigh might be better, I feel like sound wise, it sounds ok, but when it is written it doesn't look right.

This - exactly.

If you're actually going for 'AVA-lee', I'd definitely advise going with Ava Leigh (no hyphen necessary, seriously).

ETA: As it is, not a fan of "Avaleigh" (nor "Avalee"/"Averleigh" for that matter).

It sounds like Avery, mispronounced, to me. I could get behind Ava-Leigh or Ava-Lee, but you'd still be correcting people.
