and this https://tinyurl.com/mgv5xafor a first birthday gift. What do you think he'll like best/get the most use of? We go on an hour long walk everyday on residential streets.
Definitely the car. I think that trike is a little obnoxious if I'm being honest.

We got DS the push buggy for his birthday. He loves it and we use it everynight for our walk which is usually at least 30 minutes. In all honesty, I think that trike looks like a science project gone wrong. I agree it is kinda dorky. Wait until he can actually ride a tricycle and get a regular one.
I would take him to the store and try out a few trikes if that's what you are looking for. I wanted to get one for DS and found after trying them out, that he is NOWHERE big enough for them! He didn't stay on the seat well and couldn't reach the pedals. I tried several diff. ones too, but they didn't have that one.
DS has a Kettler trike https://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=15005858& which is really great because the frame adjusts as the kid gows. It has a seat belt which is a must because DS would not stay on otherwise, they also sell a footrest that goes right ontop of the pedals since they can't really pedal at this age (DS can't really even reach the pedals but loves the footrest). Plus it has the pushbar. It's really expensive but made really well. DS loves it! Sometimes DS likes to just play with it, he pushes it around and fills/emptys the basket on the back!
All that being said we also have a radio flyer wagon and he loves that also. Honestly I think your DC will like whatever you decide to buy. Hth!
