what to do for cough?

ruby came home from vacation with a cough

she has no other symptoms and i had been thinking the last two days that it was for attention (she will cough to get attention when we're not looking at her). ?but the cough seems to be getting more frequent and im not sure what to do. i gave her a bit of motrin to see if it made a difference, which it hasnt. any suggestions? ?

You could do a vaporizer in her room at night or a steam shower in the bathroom. That may help. If it is croupy and congested you can rub vaporrub on her feet and put socks on them.

If it's a cold, not much you can do but try to keep her comfortable.  The couch is probably from drainage.  You can try the warm steam from the bathroom to loosen any nasal congestion, then use the bulb sucker to suck anything out of her nose.  You could also use some saline nose drops/spray to loosen any congestion.  Try to keep her upright (ie; in the car seat, bouncy chair, exersaucer, etc).  Extra fluids (ie; bm or formula).
