XP: Question re: making DS's food

So far we've done mainly veggies, but we're ready to introduce some more fruits now.  When I make/puree fruit for DS, can I freeze it? (plums, apples, peaches, etc.)  If it is okay to freeze fruits, do I need to do anything special?  Sorry if this is a dumb question!  TIA!

  • Just freeze like normal. Apricots are a little weird but they still work. It's just a giggly consistency.

  • Nope just make them like you do the veggies. If you need help with anything wholesomebabyfood.com is an amazing site.

  • Same as pp apricots is the only fruit I thought turned out weird after freezing it.
  • It's fine to freeze fruits.  Avocados and bananas also don't do well frozen.

  • Bananas did fine for me. ?I think the best way is to peel the banana, cut it into portion sizes and stick it directly in the freezer. ?I put it in the microwave for a few seconds to defrost it and then mush it. ?It doesn't turn brown. ?But even the ones that turn brown taste fine. ?
