Baby Names

girl name: Everleigh

Do you like this name? I think it pretty, and I like how it rolls off the tounge.

I am not into into creative spelling AT ALL though- is that how you would spell it? Or maybe Everley? IDK, what do you think?

Re: girl name: Everleigh

  • This is what we are using for our girl name!!! Same spelling!!! I love it! First I wanted to just use Ever, but my middle name is Leigh so I thought it would be pretty to add that and Ever can still be a NN.

We haven't told anyone our name yet because I didn't want to hear any critisism, so it's nice to finally announce on here!

Have you thought of any middle names that would go with it, I am having a hard time because I think it will need to be one sylible.

  • I think it's pretty and I like the spelling Everleigh.

A couple of famous people have kids named Everleigh, including one of those guys from the Twilight movies.  I think it looks made up...sorry.
  • I love the name Everleigh, but so far everyone has given it a big hands down.

  • I think it is really pretty!  Although when introducing her to people they may think you say beverly since that is more common.  Just wanted you to think about that:)

I don't like it. It looks made up to me. Everleigh I'd pronounce Ever-lay and Everly I'd pronounce Ever-lee. I'm not sure which you are going for.?

Leigh= Lay to you?  I've never known a single person with Leigh in their name that pronounce it Lay.  I know several girls who are just Leigh and it's pronounced Lee.

How do you pronounce Haleigh, Ashleigh, Kayleigh, etc.?

    ?

Leigh looks like lay because of the word sleigh, which is pronounced slay. You don't say slee.?

I've never met a Haleigh, Ashleigh or Kayleigh before. Those just look like misspellings of Halle, Ashley and Kaylee. The reason why I can distinguish these names are because they are familiar. I've never heard of Everleigh or Everly IRL. I also don't know anyone named Leigh. It's not familiar to me.?

  • I think it is very pretty. I don't mind the spelling Everleigh the only other spellings would be Everly or Everley
  • Everleigh looks better than the other spellings IMO
  • I really like it.  And not made up, I saw it in our baby name book, too.  ;)

And, for the record, Leigh is always pronounced like Lee.  It's not an uncommon name on its own or as part of a longer name.

  • I like it. I have also seen it spelt Everly. Personally I like the longer version. I do agree that it would go well with a short mn, like Rose, Claire, Paige, Ruth, Renee, Jane, Jean, Brooke, Kate, Faith, and Grace. Then again, it depends on your last name.
