DH Vent

I'm not frustrated with him at the moment, but Hippy's post got me going...

Why is it that on weekdays that I work, he takes FOREVER to get out of bed, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to the bathroom again, or brush his teeth, before he takes DS from me; by which time I've nursed, changed and dressed DS and myself, and often have also fed DS solids.  Then yesterday, when I took the day off so he could start re-roofing our garage, he says "It'd be best if I didn't have to deal with DS at all".  *blank stare*

To top it all off, he had no problems getting out of bed at 5:15 this morning to work on the garage, but come to Monday morning I'll have to tell him to get up for about 1/2 hour before he finally gets out of bed (and generally don't start telling him this until at least 6:30 if not 7 or 7:30 - I like my sleep in the morning, too!), and I'm sure I'll be later than I want to be to work because of it.   sigh....  just, sigh....

  • I get this.  Oh, how I *so* get this...

  • I get this... Why is that if they don't want to deal with DS/DD they think nothing of it, but if we want time to not deal with DS/DD it's a big deal and they drag their feet doing it?

  • I probably wouldn't worry about giving him time to "wake up" and instead just drop LO off with him in bed on your way out the door. That should wake him up fast enough, and if he has to manage LO while eating breakfast etc it could be a good learning experience ;)

Sadly, I've dropped DS off with him a time or two when I had to blow my nose, and DH just lies there, making sure that DS doesn't fall out of bed while DS whines because he wants to be up and/or his mama.  It's just more infuriating.  I don't know what he'd do if I actually left.
