Feeling hungover when I wake up

I forget if we talked about this already, but anyone else getting this?  I keep a glass of water by my bed every night and now that I'm KU I find myself waking up to utilize it more often during the night.. When I wake up my mouth is super dry and I feel all dehydrated and hung over.  Yuck!

I told DH yesterday morning and his thoughtful response was "nooooo drinking for you!"  Yeah, no shiit sherlock, but so not fun to feel hungover without even having a drink!

ugh...how horrible! i hate hangovers...maybe drink a glass of water before bed. gl.
  • Loading the player...
  • Oh, I'm drinking water/liquids all the time!  Even taking sips throughout the night since my mouth feels so dry while sleeping.  It's definitely weird..
  • Same way, I pretty much feel like I drank a bottle a red wine.  I am drinking throughout the night.  It has gotten a little better but I still am extra thirsty at nifgr!Beer
  • I drank water like crazy (super thirsty and dry mouth) when I was as far along as you...of course that just made me have to pee more LOL! Just wait until the nausea hits you, then you'll *really* feel like you drank too much!

so... i just googled "feeling hungover while pregnant" and it says it because your body replaces the amniotic fluid every two hours. so basically what you're feeling is dehydration. yep...you have to drink MORE!
  • Ah, I must've used the wrong search terms when I googled because I didn't see that one.  I guess that would explain why it's just at night that I'm feeling so dried out then, since I go longer without having full glasses of water.

  • That's how I described my m/s with my 1st pg--a hangover that lasted all day and I would be trying to find that one magical food that would make me feel better (like fast food or coke or eggs) like sometimes works with a hangover but nothing would really help.  Mine lasted like this till 13 weeks.  So far with this pg, it hasn't hit me yet, knock on wood.
  • I too was experiencing this and I was drinking TONS of water during the day and night.  I also had horrible all day nausea!  So, I absolutely relate with the comment on trying to find that right food to make me feel better all day.  I couldn't take it anymore...5 weeks...not sure why it took me that long to becmoe desperate!  But I had 2 accupuncture treatments last week.  My grogginess/hungover head I had started clearing up the day after my first treatment and my nausea has slowly subsided also!!!!  I wish I had known this in week 7 when I couldn't get out of bed or leave the side of the toilet.

I feel like that right now! All headachey, dry mouth, groggy etc. It is the weirdest thing.  I almost was thinking that maybe someone put alcohol in my ginger ale at the wedding last night b/c I feel like CRAP!  The dehydration things makes the most sense.  I would usually have a cup of coffee to help ease the pain right now, but it doesn't really appeal to me.

Of well- at least I'm don't have MS!

I had this, too- and I still get super thirsty at night so I have to have my water. I found that having a humidifier on really really helped! It helped a bit with the dry mouth and I didn't feel as bad when I woke up in the morning. Now that it's getting warmer and humid out I don't run it anymore, but I would never have made it through the winter without that thing!
  • In my 1st couple weeks I had serious cotton mouth!! Now, not so much, but i'm drinking a lot more to prevent it. I haven't had any m/s though so I haven't had that hungover feeling (yet)
  • I have never been hungover (I don't like feeling buzzed, let alone drunk) but I also awake feeling cotton-mouthy and thirsty and nauseous.  I keep water by the bed and saltines in my nightstand drawer.  It helps.  Take a minute or two before I feel like I can get up though.

I don't know about you, but I am making sure I am drinking enough water all day long...3 liters a day for me of fresh, filtered water.  I also add in about 8 oz. of juice (calcium-D fortified OJ or low-sodium V8) and one can of lemon La Croix sparkling water too (helps with nausea and is a healthier choice than 7-UP or other sodas).

  • I think it has to do with dehydration or something...I told DH I feel sunburned when I wake up...minus the burnt skin feel, but you know, like when you fall asleep by the pool on a hot day and you wake up and you are just kind of buzzed and out of it and light headed...
  • I'm doing all of the above except the juice... Well, I haven't measured the water I'm drinking, but it seems like a lot....
  • I have been feeling the same way for 2 days now. I sometimes wake up at 4 am and it's so hard for me to fall back asleep because of how I'm feeling.
  • I used that exact same description when I woke up this morning. I was thirsty and a little queasy and no real appetite but I knew I needed to eat something. Oatmeal did the trick. And I agree with PP, there is definitely that feeling of finding the one food that day that sounds good.
