3rd Trimester

Trying to find some motivation....

to clean my entire house. DH won't be home until later tonight and my mother is coming to town tomorrow. The floors need to be swept & mopped, laundry needs to be done, the bathroom needs to be scrubbed, the kitchen is a mess, my car needs to be cleaned.....just woke up from a two hour nap and all I want to do is crawl back into bed.

  • I need to clean, too.  I have to trick myself into doing it... If I start the dishes, it sort of kickstarts my cleaning energy.  Somehow others chores don't get me going... just dishes.  But I'm probably a freak.

And I have to blast girl-rock music that I can sing to.Big Smile

  • I sooooo understand you!! I feel the same way. I've got tonnes of work to do and I have no motivation....I am really good at making lists right now, though...LOL!

I am a total list maker too...but none of it is getting done...who should I give the lists to?

Blasting music gets me motivated to clean too!  I have a specific playlist of my fav songs that I rock out to.  My plan of attack right now is keeping up with the areas that are seen/used by guests before cleaning our room and bathroom.  It feels less overwhelming to me that way.

  • I was seriously about to post the same thing! My house needs an overhaul! Since my OB lifted a lot of my restrictions DH has been leaving most of the house work to me, which since he works full-time really is fair. I am just not motivated at all. I usually clean well while I am on the phone but my best cleaning motivating GF is not home. I need a maid!

  • Ugh, it's so frustrating for us. DF works 5 days a week, 12 hour days!!! And I have restrictions on what I can do, so not very much gets done around the house. By the time he's home, or off he's either asleep, or we just spend time together because we never see one another. It's frustrating, especially with our families being in Ohio. ( we are in Iowa ). He understands I cannot do much, and didn't want me doing too much anyways, but it still makes me feel bad.
