I miscarried naturally on April 30. I'm at the point now where is am just spotting (I've been bleeding off and on for a month). When I met with the doctor last Wednesday he told me to wait 3 month to try again. He said that would be enough time to get my levels back down to 0 and my body ready for another pregnancy. Of course I have the fear that it will happen again, but I want to know how long you waited to start trying and how long did it take for you to get pregnant again? Also, did your doctor see you earlier this time to make sure things were on the right track?
TIA!
Re: How long did you wait to start trying again?
I am really sorry about your loss.
After my 2nd m/c, we waited for AF to come and started trying after that (it was a 56 day cycle) We got pg the 2nd cycle post 2nd m/c. GL!
I think a lot of doctors say to just wait one full cycle. That's what mine said. My period came back 29 days after my miscarriage - and I think your levels have to be at zero to get your period.
We tried right away that next month. Didn't get pregnant, but did the following month. I would have had a very hard time waiting three months!!
We didnt try, it just happened. ?I know, alot of TTC'ers would love to kick me for that.?
We decided we were definitely going to wait the 3 cycles the doc told us to. I did some research and talked to the doc alot and she said its because it takes time for your ute lining to build back as strong as it was prior to the m/c and the stronger it is the tighter it will hold a baby. ?To me it was a no brainer-I didnt want to do anything to put us at higher risk of a m/c again.
That being said, my d&c was Dec 1st of last year. ?I got my bfp April 8th of this year so it was exactly 3 cycles later. ?And FYI, I was charting and ended up o'ing a whole week early which is how it happened-we weren't going to try again until August, but I'm thrilled to be here! ?My doc saw me the next day after my BFP and drew blood once a week for the 1st month to check levels-she also put me on prometrium (progesterone suppliment) just to be on the safe side (and i love it-it makes me cheery).
?
GL?
So sorry about your loss.
We waited til AF came and then we started trying. I took 6 cycles to get pg again and we saw Dr at the same time 6 weeks but went in for more frequest u/s's
My doctor said to wait until after I got my period, so that's what we did. We got pg on our third cycle trying after m/c.
My doc is not seeing me any earlier this time (still about 8 wks) but did let me get beta levels checked twice just after my BFP.
Good luck to you
First of all I just want to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. It is one of the most difficult things I have ever gone through.
Personally, I have never waited after any of my miscarriages. It took us 4 months to conceive Ethan after my first miscarriage. Then after my second miscarriage in January we got pregnant again right away (before AF) and miscarried again (chemical pregnancy). I got pregnant right away once again and that is where we are currently. So far so good. Hopefully this will be our sticky baby. We have had a good ultrasound, and I just got a doppler and heard the babies heartbeat today! GL with whatever you decide.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a blighted ovum last summer, m/c naturally and got AF about a month later. We TTC'd on the next cycle and I got PG again. Unfortunately, that also ended in m/c. I took misoprostyl that time and it took about a month and a half for my hcg to be less than 5 again. Before it got down to 5, I did have one period. Then I had another, we tried again and I got PG again. Luckily this baby seems to be sticking around.
If you are still bleeding on and off, I would ask your doctor to check your hcg. For my second m/c, I didn't bleed nearly as much so we were concerned that I was going to need a D&C, so we checked the hcg. It was going down but a little slowly. My doctor knew I wanted to avoid D&C so we just kept checking the hcg. With my natural m/c, I bled heavily and it was pretty obvious when it was over.
My doctor did have me come in for betas when I got PG this time around. I'm sure that was just to make sure everything was going okay.
I wish you all the best!
I had an u/s a week after the m/c that showed my uterus was empty. The last time they checked my HCG (3 weeks ago) it was at 16,000 (and going down) and he said they wont keep checking it. He wasn't concerned.
