Re: ~~Bedrest Mamas Friday Check In~~

Hi ladies, I had my baby on Sunday!  See my post above for pictures.  I will post my birth story later. I guess it was perfect timing the I turned over the check-in last Friday...

Good luck to each and every one of you...

  • Still having contractions but no other signs of baby yet so I guess that's a good thing.  Other than that no updates here!

QOTD: I think my nesting has just kicked in the last week or two and luckily the doctor told me that I can be up on my feet for small periods.  So, I do what I can sitting down and then spread everything else out throughout the days.  I haven't been able to go on a cleaning rampage through my house like I would like to, but soon enough.  The doctor said that I can go back to normal activity tomorrow since I'll be 36 weeks.  Yay!  I guess I will finally be able to let my nesting instinct go.

    JCM- Congrats!

  • Update:  Okay, so after almost a full day of contractions, and nothing happening, my LOs decided to give me a break.  Doc came to see me this morning, and suggests that I limit the number of visitors I have at one time because he thinks that's what's starting my contractions up. Sad I guess it'll mostly be just DH and I until d-day...

QOTD: Nesting has really gotten a hold of me, but since I'm in the hospital, I can only really focus on keeping my room clean and in order.  It drove DH crazy at first, but now I think I'm rubbing off on him......last night, I woke up to find him taking out the garbage in our room, organizing my shelves, and rearranging the furniture!!  Well done, honey, well done!!! Wink

i kind of agree with the doc.  sometimes all the social excitement with visitors can get things going.  when i was in hosp at 28wks (10days) i cut my contact with outside world (except dh)  WAY down.

oh, love the nesting that your dh is doing... nice!

  • No updates here.

QOTD:  I've been in the nesting mood lately but I'm not able to do anything (physically) yet.  At 36 weeks, my restrictions will be lifted so just one more week left...yay!  To compensate, I've been making lists of all the things that I need to do.  Hopefully, after 36 weeks I'll have time to do them all :)

  • Updates:  Despite the painful, cramping contractions my cervix is still closed, WOO!  So Dr. says to keep up the modified bedrest for now, up for meals, showers, taking care of DS, but otherwise laying down.  He did my Group B strep test early because he says he doesn't think I will make it to the point where they usually do them.  I really like my Dr.!  Hope he will be the one delivering :)

QOTD:  It has been really hard for me to sit back and see the house not to my liking especially after we moved.  Also the babies room still needs some work, crib is together, bedding is on and washed etc, just needs a bit more organizing and for me to put in the rocking chair, curtains, etc.  I'm probably going to tire myself after a very short time once I am given the ok to do a bit more!  Once in awhile I will sweep the kitchen floor, and throw in a load of laundry but thats about all I've been doing and there's a LOT more to be done.  DH is doing more than he ever has but he just isn't capable of doing everything the way I would do, he's just a guy.  I wish my mom would offer to come over and help me do a good cleaning of this place before LO arrives, I might ask her actually.  Every time she comes over she says she is going to help out a bit but just ends up ignoring everything to play with DS.

  • Updates: NST and u/s at the hospital yesterday. LO is not breech anymore! Hopefully she stays put. She kind of felt like she was trying to flip over again last night but I can't tell for sure. Just have to wait until next time and see I guess. During the NST the nurse was concerned that I was having so many contractions so she called the MW to see what to do. I told her they were pretty mild compared to what I usually have so she sent me home and said to call if they got worse than usual. They got stronger last night but eventually stopped. MW called today to check on me and said to keep drinking lots of water. She wants me to go at least one more week.

QOTD: It's been hard to resist the nesting urges since I sarted bedrest. My mom came to help with housework and she and DH put the nursery furniture together. It was great having her here but she was only able to stay for a few days. DH tries to be helpful but he's so busy with work he doesn't have much time to clean. I can't wait until I'm allowed to do more. Hopefully soon!

  • I'd like to be added to the list.

    Name: reiner08

    EDD:  8/1/09

Type of BR: Strict, hospital - allowed up to go to the bathroom and shower. Wheelchair rides outside (20 min) OK.

    Since when: May 18, 2009

Reason: preterm PROM (premature rupture of membranes) 29 weeks, 3 days.

QOTD Answer- I'm not at home so I had some art supplies brought to me so that I could work on some cool artwork to hang in the baby room.

  • Updates:  still leaking, wish I wasn't.  I am a hormonal mess.  QOTDThey mentioned putting my on "mood enhancers" as I am having a heck of a time.  I am weepy and depressed, I am killing my appetite and I am certainly counting the days to 34 weeks.  Hospital food is killing me.

QOTD:  I am not able to do anything about any nesting instincts...stinks.  However, I will most likely beat LO home.
