jenhum or other that have/had GD

I have to check my sugar 4 times a day. I have doing it for about 9 weeks. The tops of my fingers have small blisters on them from sticking them so much and the skin is starting to harden so I am having trouble getting enough blood out. I am having to stick myself 2 sometimes 3 time to get enough out to test it. Any advice on what to put on my hands (besides lotion) to keep them softer?

Re: jenhum or other that have/had GD

  • I didn't have GD, but I have regular Type 1 so I have the same issues with my fingertips.  I've found that really greasing your hands up at night with something heavy like Aquaphor helps soften them.  Also make sure you are not hitting the same finger every time - for some reason, I tend to gravitate toward my left ring finger every time, so I have to make a conscious effort to use the others as well.  GL!
