My doctor recommends tummy rubs to help move things along and my sister swears by taking her LO's temperature. (apparently sticking a thermomoter up her LO's butt really "gets things going")
Keep in mind though, constipation is only considered constipation if it's a really long time between poopy diapers (not a day or two) and poop comes out in hard pebbles.
Call your pedi to get his/her thoughts on this, but mine recommends an ounce or two of just plain water in a bottle. It works for Jack every time.
I don't recommend this. Everything I've read, plus the pedi's advice, say not to give them large amounts of straight water since their kidneys have a hard time with it. I consider 1-2 ounces a lot though. And I'm not sure what the age rec for it is...
