A 30wk pg lady came into ICU critically ill with some sort of respiratory illness. ?She had to be intubated and ventilated and they did an emergency c-section on her. ?She was admitted on Weds and died on Sunday. ?Turns out she had swine flu.

Now there are 2-3 other pg ladies in El Paso with swine flu not including one that is now in the ICU with my brother. ?My mom is freaked. ?She made me call my OB and tell her that I'm taking Tamiflu that she gave me on my last trip out. ?Of course I've have a sore throat for a couple of days. ?I called my OB nurse and she said that I should take it if I want but its a category C drug... my mom says its innocuous (she is an internal medicine doc). ?I'm going to take it, because of how its hitting these pg women... the lady that died was an otherwise healthy 24yo.

Wow that IS scary. I haven't heard much hype about the swine flu lately. I can't believe a healthy 24 yo died!
