Ok, no bunk beds. help me find a trundle!

#6#6 member

Please someone help me find a trundle for a reasonable price.  I would like a twin size trundle bed.  Not too picky about anything else about it.  Just something for 2 little girls.  (they have a dresser that is light pine but I dont care if it matches)

I would like to stay under $300 because we will only be using it for a few years until they are old enough for a bunk bed set.

  • IKEA! How far are you from Richmond? There's an IKEA there and last time I was at the one in Charlotte, NC they had several twin trundle bed sets.

  • I bought my girls bunk beds w/ a trundle!  It's by Lea Industries...(Lazy Boy owned I believe).  Here is what they have--only 2 twin beds w/ a twin trundle.  I moved my DD#1 to the top bunk a few months ago (4.5yrs old) & she's done totally fine up there.  Before that we just didn't have a mattress up there & she slept on bottom & DD#2 on the trundle.  It was fairly pricey but we got it on sale 50% off.

Here is similar to what they have only in white:

  • OK, go to IKEA.com and search for ODDA. There is a bed and a separate pull out trundle. Roughly $250 for the set.

  • Bunk beds scare the beejesus out of me. A good friend of mine recently lost her little girl to an accident on a bunk bed. She strangled herself with a blanket when climbing down.

    She was 10.

Awesome.  My sister lives in Richmond.  The next time I go visit I will go look at what they have.  I have found one I like and is in our price rage but its metal and I worry how that will hold up to 2 preschoolers.

Mel-  That is so tragic!  That is scary.  I never thought of that being a danger in bunk beds.  Usually falls are the main concern.  Im sorry for your friends loss.  :(
