I remember people saying that they have not found good patterns for their Mom's/whoever to knit for them.  I just wanted to share with you guys that I found a great board with lots of patterns if you know someone who can knit/crochet.  My Mom has made Nora some fantastic diaper covers/skirties/shorties and is making her first longie right now.  If you're interested, join the yahoo wool_soaker_group.  They have some good (free) patterns there.  Another place is ravelry.com.  There is TONS of stuff out there- some free and some that cost $$.  Our favorite so far is the WHW diaper cover (warm heart woolie) that is a free pattern from ravelry.  (they also have some you can buy).  With ravelry you have to request an invitation and it takes a couple of days I believe, but it doesn't cost $.  Let me know if you want to know more info or email me at jmherrmann at gmail.
