Elise seems to be very popular as a middle name but not as common as a first name.
I know I like Elise as a middle name because the emphasis is on the second syllable (like Marie, Nicole, Renee, etc) but it doesn't feel as dated as some of the other "filler" names with emphasis on the second syllable.
I think Elise is a very pretty first name, though! Elisa/Alisa is nice, too.
I've known three in my life, all with different spellings. Allysse-she's in her 20's now, Elyse-she's around 11 or 12, and a college friend had a baby not too long ago named Elise. Pretty, but not very common as a first name.

I think Elise is beautiful. I was almost named Elise, but my mom didn't love it. We aren't considering it. Our last name starts with S and it runs way too much. I only know 1 Elise and she spells it Alyse. I think you should go for it!?
I was the one who asked for MN suggestions for Elise a few posts down
I LOVE it and it's not common at all. But still beautiful and not too out there. I've only known one Elise my whole life... a baby (well she's 10 now!) whom I nannied for while in college. I fell in love with it then. If this baby is a girl we're going for it!

Re: How many are using Elise?
Its our #1 on our list, and has been for years. This is a hypothetical baby, as we are no where near pg.
MN - Juliette.
Call me Kat =^..^=
We're actually considering it for a mn (when we get pg). I also saw it on an earlier thread today, but I haven't seen it very much otherwise.

I might decide on Gabriella Elise.
If its a girl...?
