anyone have conv. crib that sticks out from wall instead of flush against?

My furniture is being delivered tomorrow & I'm starting to panic about how it is going to fit in the room- ?we have 2 cribs, a long dresser and a glider/ottoman. Unfortunately, 2 walls are taken up by windows (and low ones at that) and the closet/door to hallway & the other 2 walls are not long enough to accommodate both cribs against them or even to put them on opposite sides b/c the dresser would then have to be in front of the window(s) and the glider would be practically in the middle of the room.I looked into smaller cribs but the dimensions are relatively standard so I figured they could both stick out from the one wall & be ok, but after seeing a friend's convertible crib today, I think the 2 different height sides (headboard & footboard) might be much weirder looking than I was thinking if they're not flush against the wall.Thoughts? ?

Re: anyone have conv. crib that sticks out from wall instead of flush against?

  • How do you mean "stick out from the one wall"? ?Could you put the headboards of both up against the wall & have the cribs parallel to each other? ?like this: I= ?Or is that what we're talking about??
  • i mean the short sides of the cribs against the wall but that means the long sides, which are 2 different heights will be in the middle of the room, so it might look really strange....most ppl put the higher side (the headboard) against the wall.

  • What about placing the two "headboards" back to back (or side to side depending on how you look at it) like they often do in the store?
  • Thanks!

Good idea -I was debating the headboards back to back...I liked the idea of being able to walk between them (with footboards facing each other) to be able to get at both of them easily from the same place but I am going to to try the other option if that is too weird. I imagine they're going to be super heavy so I am hoping to find an option I like while the the delivery guys are still here but who knows...

    :)?

  • none of my cribs are against the wall. i had the same problem.i have them then in a sort of in a t shape. Two of them the short end is against the wall, side by side and the 3rd crib in in front of the other 2.
