What did you do all day to keep from going crazy? My doctor put me on bed rest today because of crazy swelling. No more work for me. I'm in a wedding Saturday, so I guess I'll try to stay off my feet as much as I can until then and then start Sunday. I had no idea this was going to happen and I still feel like there is a lot to do. Do you really have to lay there all day?
Re: For those of you on Bed Rest
Go to the High Risk board. There's a daily check-in for BedRest Mamas. They'll give you lots of advice on how to survive bedrest. I can make some suggestions, but it's not the same as getting advice from women who have been doing it for months!
And, yes, if your OB says bedrest, that's exactly what you should be doing. Did you talk to him/her about the wedding?

I've been on modified bedrest since 20 weeks from threatened PTL. I don't lay down all day long but I do alternate activity with rest. I also have my DH wheel me around in a wheelchair around the mall or the grocery store to get out of the house.
I watch tv, bump, read and honestly I sleep a lot because there is nothing better to do. It sounds great but I'd rather be at work.
There is a bedrest checkin over on the high risk board if you want to join that.
Well I have a weird situation. Up until 2 weeks ago I had a midwife. She didn't seem concerned bc my bp was fine, no protein in urine, etc. She said to try and put them up (which I can't really at work). I had to kinda fire her, and I saw my FIL who is a general practitioner and used to deliver babies. He said it was very bad swelling, but since everything else was fine there were no worries. He is monitoring my bp closely. I finally got in with a doc who will deliver my baby. My appt is Monday so we'll see what she says. She will prob tell me to stop working.
