Our girls are slated to go live with a relative when school is done (we have a school aged child). Other foster parents we know have a little boy that they are not adopting and have asked us if we're interested. um, YES!!!! We just got approved for a 4th child (yikes!) just so we could do respite (overnight babysitting, really) for him this weekend.
Re: Some excitment for us!
That's so exciting!! Congrats! I want to hear all of the challenges and joys of having four children. How old is the little boy? TPRd? I hope he and your girls get along well and have a great weekend together.
BTW - Thanks for your recs on your local board. My DH and I are traveling to your area in July to check out the area. Hopefully DH will have some interviews too. Would you be interested in getting together for coffee of lunch if we have time? It'd be fun to meet another nestie IRL who's doing foster-adopt!
sunnybrook - No problem! And of course, I'd definitely love to do coffee. He's 16 months old, a few delays (of course!) and TPR'd since he was 9 months old. His foster parents say he has attachment problems, but with his story, I'd have them too! Having 4 children was once my dream, but this weekend will be the test. He's looking for a hospital, correct?? My BFF is an ICU nurse, maybe she might know of something for him!
Thanks girls! We're pretty excited!
