WWYD? Trip with DD alone

Would you take a 5+ hour trip in a car alone with DD (who gets physically sick about half the time during long trips) to go to a shower for a friend?  Go on Friday, come back on Sunday (or Monday).

I took my DS down to my mom's for a week last summer which is 5.5 hours.  My dad and stepmom live half way in between us so we stopped half way and met them for lunch which really broke up the trip.  And that was our only stop.  I may be a bit of a wuss but I don't like the idea of being on the road by myself with a little one for that long.  My DS was only 7 mos at the time.

Honestly?  I wouldn't drive that distance for a shower with or without a child.  And who would watch her during the shower?
