On Memorial Day, DD and DH were playing in the backyard and DH comes inside and says what's this....pointing a black spot on DD's leg and an hour later we were at the pedi's office! She took a scooper like utensil and scooped the tick out. They said they don't test for Lyme's disease on the tick. If she developed a fever or the bullseye rash, we have to go back. If we want we can have a blood test in 6-8 weeks. The tick was about the size of this: *
Be sure to check your babies...espeically their hair!
Re: Tick Alert!
We went on vaca 2 weeks ago and my 9 y/o came up to me and said there was a leach on his balls(yes I said it!). We didnt belive him and while we were out eating all of a sudden he starts jumping and saying it was biting him! When we got back to the cabin I checked and sure enough there was a tick not a leach on his balls. We called him TOB the rest of the trip. I know its mean, but it was funny. Oh and you should have heard him when I opulled the tweezers and lighter out! Of course I didnt use the lighter though!
And that was about how big our tick was to. *
But when I was nursing I had one on my boob and freaked thinking Jeremiah had eat one while nursing! lol
