Good Prenatal Massage Anyone?

I'd love your recommendations! TIA!

Re: Good Prenatal Massage Anyone?

  • I had a great one a couple of years ago before having DD#2 at Rumi Simone in Lake Oswego.  It was the table they used, which was different than other massages I'd had while pg.  You are actually on your back, but it's an electric table that you can put into any position, so you raise your head up (so you're not flat) and raise another part under your knees to support them.  It was seriously the most comfortable I had been- then you add in the massage itself...bliss!
  • My massage lady is AWESOME and did many pre-natal massages on me.  She is a trained physical therapist so she knows the "right" places to rub/not rub/how much pressure, etc.  She is fantastic.  Alot of "prenatal massage" people will hardly touch you at all because they haven't been trained properly, or they are scared, or whatever.

She has you lay on your side on a body pillow (probably in the same position you sleep in now?) and then you lay on the other side also, that way she can really get at your lower back also.  The sacrum is a place that really needs to be rubbed hard during massage, and it feels soooo good.

Her salon is in downtown Milwaukie.  From Beaverton you just hop on the Ross Island bridge and go about 10 minutes down McLoughlin, it's really not that far of a drive, and she is worth it.  She charges about $60 for a one hour.  She's open M, W, and Th only.
