Which for 1st b-day gift?

We're getting Natalie a few toys for her birthday (water table, books, etc.) but I also wanted to get her something to keep and use for years to come (not necessarily something she'd use right now given her age).  These are the two I've looked into.  WDYT?  Which do you think would be better for a long term gift?

I like the Piggy Bank better. Maybe I'm nostalgic since I had one with my name on it all through childhood.

I really like the jewelry box. I think it is something she would use more as she gets older.

I like the jewelry box.  I had a friend who got her daughter a charm bracelet for her first birthday then every year they gave her a charm that resembled something significant that occurred in that year.

I like the piggy bank.  I'm not sure why really, but it's just really cute to me.  But I think a jewelry box is a really cute idea too.  Does that help you?

I like the jewelry box.  Probably, like bobsbride, I'm sentimental because I remember having one all through my childhood.  It had a little ballerina that popped up and spun around when you opened it.  I loved it!

I like the jewelry box too..I had one with a lil ballerina growing up and used it for a long time.....I also like the idea that someone else suggested of getting her a charm bracelt and get a charm each year that is specific to a special event or what not for that year...I guess u'd just get a regular adult size bracelt. I think I want to try adn remember that suggestion for when I have a daughter.
