XP:How often do you allow yourself

to take a nap?

Do you give in to the urge to nap or do you try to fight it and stay awake?

I felt so guilty the first time I was PG because I was tired all of the time and I ALWAYS napped when I came home from work.  How do all of you handle the tiredness?

Much Love~

  • I nap when I can (took a glorious nap yesterday). But, sometimes we're doing things during the hours that I normally nap and I'm not able to :(

  • At this point, I can't even try to fight it. If I even sit down on the couch for 5 min. now when I'm feeling tired, I'm out.
  • My pregnancy with Paige I was on semi-bedrest from 20 weeks on and napped every afternoon.  It was heaven!  With Sarah I napped some days when Paige did but it wasn't every day.  This time I'm not sure but so far I have not napped.
  • I was napping everyday when I came home from work during weeks 5, 6, 7, and some of week 8. But I have been feeling a lot more rested lately. I'll still take a nap here and there if I can... but it feels good to be getting some of my energy back.

  • I nap when I come home from work about 3 times a week. Today I have a friend visiting, so no nap. But tomorrow, I plan on coming home from work around 4pm, napping til 6pm, making dinner, and then crashing around 10pm. A pregnant woman needs her sleep.

I often take a nap when I get home but I am home way before DH and don't have any kids yet. I think you need to take care of yourself, nap if you need to.

  • I usually take an afternoon nap. If not, than I'm super grouchy by dinner time. I noticed I'm not sleeping at night so I may try and eliminate my naps to see if that will help- it'll be hard though.?
  • I am napping all the time.  I would think that I am sleeping too much but I never have trouble sleeping at night either.  I've often wondered if I am making myself more tired by napping too much.
  • DS still takes 2 naps a day, so I nap during one of them.  I can't nap during both or laundry, dishes and meals would cease to happen, but if I could, I would.  I love my daily nap, and I don't know what I'm going to do when he goes down to just one/day and I'll have to give it up (which should happen in the next few months, yippee).  Once I hit second tri and it doesn't sound so revolting, I'll probably resume my 1 cup of half-caff coffee each am or a glass of iced tea in the afternoon.  I was pretty strict about not allowing myself to have caffeine while pg with DS, but this time around, I just don't see it happening.

During weeks 5, 6, and 7 I napped every single day after work from about 3:30 to 6:30.

Lately, I'm feeling more rested and will likely take much shorter naps.  Unfortunately, my career as a teacher means I have to be up around 5:45 every morning so I am always zonked after the work day.
