If you have a double jogging stroller and love it please let us know what kind it is. A few criteria and questions:
- My husband is a pretty serious runner. I'm not really sure what that means in terms of a stroller because I don't run and we don't have one now so I don't know what to look for :-P
- We would use it on trails (like town lake) and streets.
Now questions:
- Is it an issue to use yours with only one kid in it?
- At what age can a baby ride in the jogger?
- Do you need a regular double stroller if you have a double jogger? I'm thinking we'll just get the jogger and use it whenever we need both kids in a stroller. We really don't use our stroller that much now, and we still have the single for the baby.
- Is there a place for drinks and a storage area in the bottom of your jogger?
- Price?
TIA!
Re: Please rec. your double jogging stroller (and ?)
We have the BOB Dualie. We have not yet used it w/ two kids, but we used the BOB Revolution w/ Jack and were quite pleased.
- We are keeping our Revolution for the times that just one child will go out for the run. I think the uneven weight would be an issue in the double. Not sure, though.
- There is a carseat conversion kit that allows you to use the jogger as soon as you want. If DC is going to be sitting up w/o a car seat during the run, they recommend 6 mos. (although, if you're just using it to walk, you could go much earlier).
- We ordered a Phil & Teds for our regular stroller. The Dualie is pretty wide and we liked the flexibility of having the top/ bottom stroller (plus, it was on sale).
- Storage- yes, Drinks- there is a seperate piece that you can buy that attaches between the handle bars.
If your DH wants to come give ours a whirl, we are up north (close to Cedar Park). I'll be OOT w/ DH for the next couple of weeks, but after that, he's welcome to give it a test run.
If he's a serious runner, you'll probably want something just for running with a fixed wheel. Ones that have a swivel wheel that can be fixed are just not as good for serious running, IMO, especially on a trail.
If your jogger has a carseat adapter then they can ride in it from birth, but it's not rec'd for running. Newborn neck muscles aren't developed enough to withstand the shock/bounce of running, even in a car seat. I personally would not run with DD until she was over 6 mos, for that reason. It just wasn't worth it to me to risk it.
I don't have a double, but I have a Dreamer Design that does have good storage. It has space underneath but also spots on the back of the seat for drinks for me, keys, a sweater, etc. Lots of storage space!
thanks, i don't like to post a big announcement since i don't really know who i'm sharing with in cyber space. i found out that someone i work with is on here and i had no idea before then so ever since i am more careful :-) thanks, though! we're excited!
