Are YOU a belly rubber?

I have an XL preg. belly with two babies inside.  (In just two more days, I will not anymore --- Huge YEAH!!)  Today some friends (women) kept rubbing my belly, mainly in sympathy for how big and heavy it is, so I know they meant well.  It was still strange!

What do you do if someone rubs your belly? (pregnant belly, of course)

Do YOU rub someone else's belly??

I'm NOT a belly rubber, myself.  Not even with my sister or SIL.

Re: Are YOU a belly rubber?

  • I'm not a belly rubber, but I do ask my close friends if I can feel when the baby is moving.  When I was pregnant I was always staring at my belly.  I think fetal acrobatics are so cool.  Rubbing, however, is just weird.

  • I am definitely NOT a belly rubber.

When people touched my pregnant belly, I usually just stepped back a bit. Total strangers touched my belly, it was gross. I never saw it coming, they just went in for the touch!

  • I am not a belly rubber.  I may do it to my sister when I see her, just to be annoying:)  If it was friends that wanted to touch my belly I was fine with it.  No strangers tried but I would have probably freaked out.  I'm not a  real touchy feely person.

  • No, it never crossed my mind to rub anyone's belly for any reason and to do it without asking is extra crazy - after 2 pregnancies I still would never even want to, lol.  I only had it happen a few times, actually only with #1 not #2 and I did not like it but never said anything.

  • I would never, ever in a million years rub another person's belly (except my DS's). I think that's SO weird. When I was pg I was shopping and the sales lady kept touching my belly. It was BIZARRE. I'm too polite to say anything, so I just acted like it was fine and got out of there as quickly as possible!

  • I've touched the bellies of a few VERY close friends (people I know are ok with it) and always asked first. Other than that, I'd never do it to people I wasn't extremely comfortable with.

I generally don't mind if friends touch my belly, provided that I have a comfortable relationship with them. My aunt used to rub my belly all the time with my first pregnancy and it bothered me. MIL once POKED me, and I must have had a very horrified look on my face (she has never even HUGGED me in the 8 years DH and I have been together) because she never did it again.

  • I didnt mind at all when family or friends rubbed my belly.

I love touching pregnant bellies, but would never do it without asking first.

  • I'm not a belly rubber.  I know it makes people uncomfortable, and I'm not a big 'people-toucher' anyway.

When I was pregnant, I worked in a chiropractor's office.  A lot of patients thought it was okay to pat or rub my belly.  I didn't say anything, but it weirded me out.

  • loved it. and only do it to others if they are a good friend and I ask first.
  • No! I'll ask close friends if I can feel the baby kick, but I never randomly rub. I also hate it when done to me.

  • The only time I rubbed a pregnant belly was when my friend was like 8 months pg.  I could see her daughter moving and commented on it.  She grabbed my hand and put it there so I could feel.  It was a wake up call for me because I was 10 weeks pg at the time and none of my friends knew about it yet.

I was ok with close family or friends touching my belly as long as they asked first.  I didn't like it when they just grabbed for it.

I don't mind if someone touches my belly. They don't mean any harm by it and I guess it's the same as if they touch your arm.

I won't touch a belly unless i get permission first and will only touch someone that I am close to.

Too busy to update the pics for now ... :)

  • No way would I do that to someone. I'm not a touch-feely person anyway, except with my man and my kids.
