I grew up in the Baton Rouge area, so I'm not familiar with any of the
pediatricians out here. Can anyone recommend someone? I'd like to
find something close to home in the New Orleans/Metairie area (I'm in
the Lakeview area). Thanks!
Dr. Granier. She is at Ochsner in Metairie. She's WONDERFUL. I've also seen several doctors in the practice and they've all been great. Here's the number: 504-887-1133. HTH.
We go to Hales Pediatrics on Prytania. It's well-worth the drive from Uptown for us. I love it there! The doctors do everything, all the shots and the exams. There are no exam rooms, everything is done in their offices on the doctor's lap (or yours, when they get bigger.) They do a delayed vax schedule, if you're into that kind of thing. You can get appointments for the same day, and they're great about calling you back when you have a question.
I absolutely recommend them 100%. (Believe me, with three preemies who are in daycare, we've been to the ped a LOT.)
when my dd was born we saw Dr. R. Lawrence since I wk at EJ and everyone there sees her. I recently changed to Dr. Kieth Capone at Lake Vista pediatrics on Spanish Fort Plaza, LOVE LOVE LOVE him! He is very compasionate, easy to talk to, does not rush and is open to mom's questions and suggestions! Things I was lacking at the other office, going there is like getting advice from your best friend, not talking to a Dr. who only knows your name when the chart is in thier hand! Like ols fashioned medicine, very personal.
I took Presley to Dr Hales at Hales Pediatrics and was so sad to have to leave them when I moved back to Houston. Dr Hales would hold Presley like she was his own grandchild after checking her out. The first time I saw him, (at her 1 week appt) she fell asleep on his chest and he said "I just love it when babies fall asleep on my chest." It was sweet. He continued talking to me while holding her not giving her back until we left the office and I it really felt like he truly loved each baby he sees. I cannot say enough good things about him. His staff went the extra mile as well. I highly recommend their office.
Re: Pediatrician Recs???
We are going to choose Dr. Reita Lawrence. She has an office in Metairie.
I have heard nothing but great things about her.
