How do you cook your carrots?

I'm trying to cook baby carrots and they won't soften for the life of me.  They've been boiling/sauteing for 30 min!  My boys LOVE the canned so i've never really made them

Re: How do you cook your carrots?

  • Can you put them in the micro?

  • I boil them but they usually don't take that long! I buy them fresh. Take one out and cut it with a knife to be sure.

  • I chop them up and steam them in the Beaba Babycook (although a regular steamer works, too). Takes about 15 minutes, I believe.

  • I use my steamer basket and a stockpot.  It usually takes 30-45 minutes, depending.

Ziploc Steamer bags are AMAZING..  that's how I do it
  • I take fresh baby carrots and put them in a pot with a little water and a dab of butter.  I bring the water to a boil and then simmer for 8-10 minutes and they are definitely soft enough. Maybe use more water?  I know I'm really late and you're probably not even thinking about it anymore but maybe for the future.-
