How long is milk good after the "Best by..." date?

Kendall doesn't drink as much milk now....and I still have half a gallon of some that says best buy the 17th? Should I toss it?

It doesn't smell sour.

I keep milk until it smells.

I'd be ok putting it in my cereal if it didn't smell bad...

I say until it smells.  That makes me think that my fridge isn't cold enough because mine never makes it to the sell by date...

I'd also do a taste test.  If it smells and tastes okay, I think you're good to go.

I agree, until it smells. I have often had milk several days past the sell by date... and sometimes it goes bad before that date.
