How can I get a deeper latch?

We stopped using the nipple shield sometime last week and he's been doing very well with out it. But many times I attempt to nurse and he wont open wide. He ends up sucking like he's sucking the shield or bottle and its starting to hurt! And it doesnt help that his little chubby arm is always in my line of sight.

Any tips? TIA! ^_^

remove him, wait until he opens wide and shove your boob in! If he only takes the nipple remove him and try again

Say you feed on the L boob, Hold the baby in cross cradle and hold the back of babys head/neck with R hand. Hold L breast in L hand with fingers underneath and thumb on top, like a hamburger. Tickle babys cheek or lip with nipple. When the open wide POP baby on with a little force. It is best to aim the nipple toward the top lip and get all of the bottom areola in. It seems a little forceful but this is how I corrected latch with LC both times. Soon baby will get it.

Lead with his chin and then hook the top lip on - that makes him open wide.
