Diagnose my DD please!!

Would you take her to the Doctor?  Daycare called today and reported a spotty rash on her abdomen...I left work and looked at it, and it looked kinda like a diaper rash spreading up to her belly.  We decided she would stay the rest of the day.  Before bathime I noticed that it has spread quite a bit and she is now running a low-grade temp.  Here's my thoughts: 1) Getting another tooth?  (had a rash on her bottom with her 1st. tooth)  2) Viral infection.  Anyone experience anything like this?  TIA!!!

Re: Diagnose my DD please!!

  • Any redness to her cheeks?

  • My DD had a rash all over a couple days ago, and DR says if it's not bothering her, it's most likely viral, which hers was.

  • I would call the pedi office in the am if she still has a rash.
  • If it's little spots all over the area, that sounds like DS's yeast infection, minus the temp. ?Google it and see. ?If that's what it is, you can use Lotrimin to clear it up without going to the doctor. ?If she still has a temp in the morning, call you doctor and check.
  • Yes, she also has red cheeks and is VERY fussy!!  I plan on calling her pedi in the morning if she still is running a fever.  Just wondering about daycare and if it is contagious?

Did she eat anything different? or anything new?   She may be allergic to something.  The last thing I gave ds was the mango baby food he had it before, but this time he got a rash all over his body and a bad butt rash.   I stopped giving it to him and a couple of days later it was gone. GL  Oh he also has a low grade temp with it.
  • Is there a nurses hotline or clinic you can call? I like to run things by the nurses and see if worth taking him to see the Dr or not.
  • Is it lacy looking? DD had hand, foot & mouth which was little blisters but she had a lacy looking rash on her lower belly, but no temp. Her Dr tested her for strep. DS also had a lacy patch on his lower belly and they tested him for strep too. Neither kid had a fever or red cheeks with it though. I would call a nurse line if you can. Theirs also fifths disease, but I don't know much about it, I was worried about that when I took DD in because I was pregnant with DS.
