Safe carpet cleaner for Toddlers?

We desperately need to clean our carpet, but I'm afraid to use just anything since Emma is crawling around everywhere now.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a safe non-toxic cleaner?  My friend suggested Resolve powder, because she uses it and has a dog, so it needs to be safe for the dog, but I'm not sure...

    Are you cleaning it yourself or having it professionally done?  I know I've seen ads for professionals that just use steam and child/pet friendly natural cleaners.  But I don't know about doing it yourself.

    dh was going to just spot clean it today since he has off, but we were also planning to rent a steam cleaner sometime soon and split the cost with our friend.

    folex is awesome!! thats what we use on our carpet.  you can buy it at home depot  - a huge jug for about $15.  it works great as a spot cleaner too bc you don't have to rinse it out.
