With DS I was never on Metfomin. When we TTC#2 I switched RE's and the new one put me on it. I was on it for about 3 months before I started treatments again and it didnt do anything for me. Still no AF. I did get pregnant again though (with injectables/IUI) and stayed on the Met until 12 weeks. But since I got pregnant with DS without it (also injects/IUI), I am not sure how much it helped/didnt help the second time around. Good luck!!
With DS, I started Met in November. We got PG on our own in December (but had a m/c.....). We did IUI with injects when my AF started (which was soon after since I had a chemical....) and I was PG that month (in January.....).
This time, I started Met in early October.........we got PG on our own again (well.....with 1000mg of Met......), in Februrary We were getting ready to start IUI and Injects again when we got PG. I am convinced this help us get AND stay PG.
We also got PG last summer on our own, I was not on Met and had a m/c at 10.5 weeks. I really thought I should have been on it, but my OB felt differently.
I don't know if it helped us get PG, but I truly believe that it has definitely helped us stay PG!
I did Met starting in June until when I got pg in January. The Met alone didn't do anything to change my cycle (I never had any to begin with, and didn't start getting them on Met). I did get pg with my first shot at injectables. And, I can feel a difference in my energy levels when I'm on Met -- w/o it, foods would really impact my energy levels, but on it, I'm much more stable throughout the day. If it was easier to take than 3 huge horse pills every day, I'd probably stay on it indefinitely. GL!
Once my OB upped my dose to 1500 mg a day, I was pg within 2 months. I am certain my daughter is here today (and I am pg again/in the 2nd tri) because of the Met.
