I havent bought yet - but I think Im going to get a seller on etsy to custom make it. I found a pattern I like, but I dont want the bumper and its sold as a set. So I found I can save like $200 having just the pieces I want custom made.
I had a hard time too, actually just ordered mine last week. Found the crib skirt on PBK clearance, the quilt on ebay, we aren't using a bumper so I just registered for a few crib sheets that would match. We don't know what we're having, so just tried to go with light greens, yellows, baby blues, tans, and I think it will be pretty.
I am having mine made by a family friend who has done a ton of sewing stuff for us. I designed it by combining my favorite features of different beddings. I have pictures of the 2 main fabric's in my bio.
we just purchase seperate pieces... your baby cant use the quilt for the most part... and half the stuff is ugly IMO
we just did a lilac gingham crib skirt from The Company Store Kids
and purchased solid and gingham sheets in lilac and in leaf... also from the company store kids.
I was back and forth on the quilt too for this reason, I think ours will be a wall hanging or draped on the glider. Maybe it'll be his or her's baby blanket someday.
We are getting ours from Pottery Barn Kids (Pattern Katie Bedding). We are going to use the quilt to hang on the wall as an accent piece until she is able to use it for a twin comforter.
We went out this weekend and the only thing I found that I liked was a seperate crib quilt. It is hanging on the far side of the crib. It's an olive/lime green and chocolate brown quilt. It has a cute elephant on it and the colors I think are clean and modern. I got it at burlington coat factory. I got a white bumper, white sheet and light olive green crib skirt (all seperates)

I found my whole 4 piece set on Overstock.com and was soooo happy to find one that I loved for under $80.

Bought ours at PBK:
bought the bumper, comforter, & crib sheet. I'm using a plain white crib skirt & having ribbon sewn on it.
