I have had a sore throat for maybe 5 days now. I feel 'sick' overall (tired, I feel hot but I don't have a fever). I have a slight cough that started today.
I don't think they can do anything for me, right? I don't want to drag 2 kids and pay $15 to be told to take advil and drink OJ.
Re: How long to wait before going to the doctor (for me)
Is it a sinusy sore throat or a feel like you are swallowing nails sore throat? If it is the latter then it could be strep and they could give you an antibiotic for that. Untreated strep is a bad thing!
Hope you feel better!
it's like someone took sandpaper to my throat. I was wondering about strep, too but Dr. Google says I'd have a fever.
*sigh*. I'm a bad patient.
If you don't have a fever, I don't think it would be strep, and there's not a lot you can do other than the advil/tylenol. However, if you do get a fever, I would go right away.
Hope you feel better.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
I NEVER get fevers and right before we left for Australia, I had a sore throat for about 5 days and decided to go in. I had the onset of Strep (no fever). I was given medication and felt better within a day or so. I say go!
