The pedi asked us as DS's 24 month appt if he was able to undress/dress himself (or try to). Nope... zero interest. We try to get him to do it, and he can get his pants off but he gets pissed about shirts and then just doesn't care enough to try.
I feel like I"m always seeing posts about DC's who won't keep their clothes on, but we're on the total opposite side here. Anyone else with me?
Re: Anyone else's DC have zero interest in dressing/undressing themselves?
juney is pretty random with that stuff...she will "try" to halp me undress her for bath time, but she gives it a real halfassed try.
on occaision she will unzip her sleeper. like this morning, she unzipped her sleeper removed her diaper and told me to "please get her a fresh one.." because she "already got that one off."
The items that he will take off are: shoes, socks, unzip and take off his coat. (he has tried taking his top off, but is unsuccessful). He can not even pull his pants and undies down yet to use the potty. I still have to do it, although, when he really has to go he will "really" try...lol.
He will try to put his shoes on and will help me with his pants, undies and tops, but no way can he do it himself.
This is how DS is. He's 4 and is more than happy to let me dress and undress him all the time. Not that he's incapable he just doesn't care to do it. DD will be 3 in August and even wants to put her own diaper on. She is Miss Independent about everything. At 24 months though she didn't care yet either.
Interesting... it DOES seem like it's the girls who are eager to do it by themselves and the boys that could care less...
