DH and I like the name Josephine, nn Josie. Question is, do most people pronouce it with an "s" sound or a "z" sound "Jozephine?" Same goes for Josie vs. Jozie.
(Not talking spelling here--that will definitely be with an "s!")
With Josephine I'd make the S sound and with Josie I'd make the Z sound. Odd, I don't know why.
Ditto this. I love the name btw. It would have made it on my list but my nephew is already Matthew Joseph and my sister's mn is Jo after my Grandpa Joe (whose mother's name was Lillian).

Same.
I say both with an S sound.
This is probably a regional thing. I'd maybe ask people on your local board?
Josephine- S?
Josie- Z?
