Mia is one of our top girl names but I want to make sure the majority of people won't mispronounce it. (I have lived with my name horribly mispronounced my whole life).
Mee-uh. I've never heard anyone pronounce it differently.
My-uh would be Maya/Maia or Mya.
exactly. I'm completely bewildered when people ask this because it's always been so obvious to me. I have seen it mentioned a few times, but ONLY on this site. No one IRL has ever mentioned anything.. (I have a ton of friends who are currently PG w/ #2 so we talk baby names a lot

Re: How do you pronounce Mia?
Mia = me-a
Mya = my-a
My-uh would be Maya/Maia or Mya.
To me...
Mia = Mee-ah
Maya = M-eye-ah
mee-ah
Great name, this is what we will be using if our little one is a girl!!
This.
Ditto
I've always pronounce this way:
Mia (mee-ah)
Mya (my-ah)
Maya (my-ah
I agree.
this.
This
ditto!
It's ME-a.I love it!
If someone is saying My-a, they have chosen the wrong spelling, imo!

Definitely Me-a.
My-a makes no sense to me; Maya or Maia (or even Mya, though I find that confusing) would be better spellings for that pronunciation.
This. Mia is not a difficult name. At all. The only easier name to pronounce would be Sam or Ben. *sigh*
Mee-ah = Mia
My-uh = Maya, Maia, or Mya
I can't see it getting mispronounced often, although I can see people asking which way it is pronounced.
