NPR: What is this song--who sings it????

OK, I don't really know the words exactly, but they kind of go, "Take only what you need from it.." Then something about trees...?? There are also a couple of parts where you hear kids laughing and playing. I have only heard it played on our "alternative" radio station (is alternative still considered a genre of music? I am so old--ha!) Anyway, I love this song and am dying to download it. Anyone recognize it from the bizarro clues I have given??
