I am so stupid.

DS has this terrible just plain awful diaper rash between his legs that just looks incredibly painful.  He waddles when he walks so that his diaper won't rub against it as much.  I was talking to his teacher about it on Tuesday and she mentioned that maybe his diapers were too big.  I brushed it off and didn't really think much about it because the size below was too small.

After trying many things this week to try to get it better nothing was working.  I even bought three different diapers that were chlorine free.  I actually bought 7th Generation in a size smaller because BRU didn't have his size but as soon as I bought them I was thinking I would take them back because I remember reading comments that a lot of parents felt that 7th Generation ran small.

I was up all night last night wondering what I should do.  Should I stay home today and let him run around naked all day?  Should I take him to the pedi?  About halfway through the night I remembered what DS's teacher said and thought that maybe I should try the size smaller diaper.  I did this morning and they fit perfectly and don't rub his rash very much at all.  The teacher had it right all along.  I feel so guilty for being the cause of so much discomfort.  Not to mention the bad night we had before he went to bed (think terrible two's, hitting mommy, mommy yelling).  The guilt is seriously eating at me so much I want to leave work right this second and pick up DS.  DS screamed and cried when I dropped him off this mornin.  DH has been out of town all week so it's been a long week to the point that I think Mommy and Liam need a day of fun.  Totally sucks that my boss is out today so there is no way I could leave.  Sorry this was so long, I just feel like crying and had to get it out somewhere.

  • Don't beat yourself up. You didn't know. What matters is that you fixed the problem. Just give him a hug when you see him next.
