Hey ladies!!
Just looking back through today's posts and saw your pages to me about the mom of two stuff.
Thanks so much for your tips and support. Wellfleet, those are some really good suggestions and I know we'll just figure everything out as we go along and that things will get better as Miles gets older and eats less frequently and starts to nap somewhat consistently.
It's good to know I'm not the only one struggling with all of this right now!!
Are you ladies getting much sleep these days??
Re: ::cubby and wellfleet::
Hi I'm certainly no expert, but as the days and weeks go by (Ben will be 6 wks old on Saturday!) I feel like I am getting better at things. But it is still a struggle! I actually think it helped that I didn't have help around after the first week--forced me to figure it out or go nuts trapped in the house with two screaming kids. I'm not dealing with the reflux issues you are, though. I hope everything goes well with the appt you have coming up. Once I figured out that Ben is allergic to dairy just like Kate was and cut it out of my diet that definitely helped.
Ben is a decent sleeper--most nights he sleeps from 10:30-3 and then gets up at 5:30 or 6 for the day. He only naps in the sling. How is Miles with the sleeping? Does Nora still nap? Kate's nap saves me most days
Yes, thank GOD Nora still naps or I would seriously lose it I think. Many days I can get at least an hour nap in the afternoon by falling asleep holding Miles on the couch after I feed him. I need that or I would go insane.
Miles also recently started falling asleep in the sling, which is really nice. I do try to put him down in his bassinette when I can, just to get him used to sleeping in a bed, but he's still in the phase where he pretty much falls asleep wherever and whenever he needs to.
We have been blessed with his night sleep so far. He seems to already have his days and nights right. He sleeps a good four hours in a row at some point during the night, which is pretty much all I need to feel functioning the next day. Just four hours of unbroken sleep and maybe another two hours total of broken sleep does wonders for me.
I have yet to take the two of them somewhere alone though. I really need to just get over my anxiety and do that soon. I'm going stir crazy!!?

Ditto this--I don't get it every night, but even though it happens sporadically, I feel like a new woman when I get more than 2-3 hours in a row! Ellie slept 5 hours straight last night, but then Keira randomly woke up screaming that there was a bee in her crib (nightmare, I guess) and ruined it for me...good thing that girl's cute or I'd be mad at her!
Keep us posted on the reflux thing--I'll be thinking of you. And don't worry too much about taking the two of them out; it was a lot easier than I expected. Once the babies are older and mobile, THAT will be a challenge, but for now it's just more exercise carrying the infant seat around. I highly recommend putting Nora in the car first and getting her out last if she's anything like Keira and won't stay put while you load/unload Miles. GL!
