Re: Day out with Thomas??

  • All I know is that my SIL takes my nephews every year and they absolutely love it.  I think it involves taking a ride in a train that's pulled by an engine made to look like Thomas.  There are also photo ops I think.

  • I have never been to the train station when Thomas has been there but I have been told it is CRAZY busy and WAY packed but fun if you can get through the crowds.  Other thing is, it happens in Sept the weekend before your c-section.
Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!

Married to my BFF on 8.13.05 (after dating 5 years)!

DS born 2.14.08. DD born 9.30.09.

  • I took my son last year, right before he turned two.  We went on a Friday morning and I think it was probably the least crowded day of the three "weekend" days.   You buy tickets to ride the Thomas train and although the train trip is just an out and back route, the experience is pretty neat for kids.  After the train ride, we went to the activity area where they had tents with different things happening (story time, lots of train tables, little crafts, musicians, characters, a little corn maze, etc...).    At the time, my son was not too into trains and really had no idea who Thomas was, but he still had the best time playing with all the trains and checking out the situation.   I thought the price was kind of high and I'm glad that I didn't have to pay for my son (you have to pay for 2 and over).  But I think that if he had been a bit older and really into Thomas, like he is now,  the cost would have been totally worth it.  I think we'll do it again this year.

    Melissa,

Check out the Lebanon RR website.  https://www.lebanonrr.com/

We are thinking of taking Caleb but I wondered if he would be into it at all.  I also wondered how crowded it would be.  I'm not so into taking DS into big crowds.  I like the idea of going on a week day though.  I think Caleb is going to be way into Thomas.  He has a couple Thomas books that he adores.
