I should of followed my gut - dairy has been a diaster

We started with a little bit of yogurt yesterday and after four or five little spoonfuls he started to refuse to open his mouth or if he did he would gag, retch and try to push it out of his mouth with his tongue.  Within an hour he was gassy and fussy as all heck which has continued into tonight.  It stinks that in less than 48 hours our pretty happy and content baby has gone to screaming and inconsolable....just like when he was a newborn.  In my gut I knew that we should wait until closer to 16-17 months to try, but we listened to the GI and now he's just miserable.  What's worse is now he's shunning ALL solids - even his beloved avocado which he eats daily and has been helping with his weight gains the last two months.  I tried twice today and he refused to open his mouth after one bite when normally he's banging on the tray because I'm not going fast enough.  I told DH that from now on I'm following my gut and standing up to the doctors.
