Swaddle blanket size?

I registered for a few of the swaddleme's but I just watched the video the happiest baby on the block and figured I could also just use a blanket like they did.  Anyone know what size blanket works best for swaddling.  I bought 30x30 receiving blankets and tried with a doll and it didn't seem large enough, I'm probably doing it wrong.

I didn't even know receiving blankets had different sizes. I thought they were all the same.

I've never had a normal blanket large enough to use for swaddling. I never found any that worked well. Thus- the swaddleme was a life saver

We bought the Aden and Anais swaddling blankets.  I don't remember what size they are, but they are pretty big.  It looks like you could wrap up a 2 year old.

i found large receiving blankets for swaddling on target online that are only available online. they have already been shipped and seem like they will be very comfy and the directions for swaddling are on the blanket.

yea some of the receiving blankets won't be big enough- i could tell just by eye balling it so i went out and bought some specific swaddle blankets at Target and BRU....

there are a few receiving blankets at BRU that are in with the sheets that will be large enough i believe- the thermal looking ones (see below)... they will also be stretchy which i think will work the best (but not totally sure since this is my first baby) but the more it can be tightly wrapped on them, i would assume the better!
