Do you get bugs in your dirty dipaers?

Every so often I will notice 1-2 little bugs (like fruit flies) in the wetbag. It usually only happens if there was a poopy diaper in there. I rinse all poopy diapers out right away, but then put the diaper into the bag in the pail. I use a drawstring bag, but don't always close the drawstring. Could that be why? I keep the wetbaag in a Simple Human trash can. My sister uses disposables and gets the bugs if she doesn't empty out her diaper genie every day. Oh, and I wash diapers every 2 days.

Anyone else? Any suggestions? Should I use a zippered bag or will that even help?

I also have never had a problem with bugs and I'm in Florida too. We keep ours in a swing top trash can with an oversized pillowcase lining it. I've never seen a bug hanging out either in DD's room or out in the garage (w&d are out there) Hope you figure something out! : )?

That's the weird part. I never see them in his room.....only in the wetbag when I go to do laundry. Hmmmmm

i have once, that was when i tried keeping the diaper pail (trash can) in the laundry room I haven't done that since and haven't had a problem since.  But my laundry room is very moist and bugs get in there all the time...many holes to the outside!

I've not had a problem with this in my diapers at all, but if they are little gnat-type bugs it could be the moisture they are following. I've had issues with these type bugs in my houseplants from time to time and the exterminators told me to just let the plants dry out before watering them next and the bugs would go away. Typically that worked.
